La Maison

Welcome to La Maison in Candeleda. We are fortunate to live in such beautiful surroundings and would love to share them with you. We offer you accommodation for a week-end break, holidays, retreat for artists, writers, anyone needing peace and quiet to pursue some project in suitable surroundings. The house stands on a rural property, halfway up the mountains and 500 m from the little town of Candeleda. The views, whether towards the mountain or down the valley, are superb. And we are literally on the doorstep of the Sierra de Gredos Regional Park, an area of outstanding beauty.

The swimming pool is a favourite with our guests. It's open-air in summer and covered in winter and always at the right temperature. Its electrolytic maintenance system means it's free from chlorine. And if, occasionally, you fancy something a bit wilder, Santa Maria's gorge, nearby, offers some fantastic natural pools.

  

Breakfast with a view

Breakast is served on the main-house terrace, which has superb views, not to mention fresh air and lovely country sounds. Foodwise, we try to cater to the guests'individual tastes as far as it is possible.
 

From the garden to the table

​The property boasts an organic kitchen garden from which  our kitchen is supplied. We do not have a set menu but cook according to what is on offer at the local market on a daily basis. We cater for vegetarians. In summer, evening meals  are served , weather permitting (as it usually does), on the terrace, under the stars. When the weather gets colder, we serve them in our own dining room, asking you to share our table with us, which gives  you a chance to socialize with the locals! Evening meals must be booked in advance and the charge is €12 per person.
